New 1:2 Cr complex sulphonated disazo dyestuffs are of formula (I): A and D independently = radicals of diazo components of the benzene or naphthalene series with OH or COOH gps. in the o-position to the azo gp.; B = the radical of a coupling component with the X gp. adjacent to the azo gp.; X = -O- or -NR-; R = H or 1-4C alkyl; Y = a (het)arene-azo-benzene or -napthalene, anilinophenyl, stilbyl or benzothiazolyl gp. of formulae (II-V): R1 and R5 independently = H or sulpho; R4 = H or NO2; R6 = H, Me, MeO or Cl; R2 and R3 independently = H, halogen, NO2 or sulpho; Ar1 = the radical of an opt. substd. heterocyclic or carbocyclic aromatic amine; m = 0 or 1; n = 1-7; Ka = a cation.
