A gun for applying cable ties includes a gate 34 having an entry slot 38 for receiving a bandolier 1 of side-by-side ties in which they are interconnected at their heads and tail tips by continuous strips running along the edges of the bandolier. A slotted indexing drum 30 engages the ties of the bandolier to advance the bandolier into the gun, successive ties being cut from the bandolier by fixed blades 40 whilst leaving the two strips intact. The gate 34 may be pivoted away from the indexing drum 30 for each new bandolier to be inserted.
