PURPOSE:To suppress thinning distortion generated in a linear graphic by discriminating whether a thinning picture image deleting condition is to be applied to picture elements constituting graphic information by a thinning circuit or not in case of obtaining the linear graphic of graphic information. CONSTITUTION:A graphic input circuit 1 turns an input graphic to binary graphic information consisting of MXN picture elements and a storage circuit 2 stores the information. A scanning circuit 3 processes all the MXN picture elements as an objective picture elements and transfers the graphic information to a comparator 6. A discriminating circuit 4 checks an m-th row thinning inhibition flag 9 and n-th column thinning inhibition flag 10, and only when the flags 9, 10 are cleared, transfers the graphic information to the thinning circuit 5. The circuit 5 reads out the objective picture element and its adjacent picture elements from the circuit 2, decides whether thinning is to be executed or not to control the flags 9, 10. After completing the processing all the picture elements as the objective picture elements, the comparator 6 compares the original graphic information read out from the circuit 2 with new graphic information and sends the compared result to a graphic output device 11, so that the thinning distortion can be suppressed. |
