Method of bending a glass sheet heated to the shaping temperature employing a hot gas stream of wide cross-section, by means of which the glass sheet is pressed against a bending form. According to this process the velocity of the stream components travelling radially along the glass sheet is decreased at least in chosen regions of the glass sheet by virtue of baffles placed in the path of these stream components and in that the static pressure component of the stream is increased in these regions of the glass sheet.
