A GHOST CANCELLING APPARATUS

An apparatus for removing a ghost component to generated through a multiple channel when transmitting a TV broadcasting signal is disclosed. In the apparatus, a transmitter transmits a TV image signal in which a predetermined reference signal for a ghost removal. A detector a GCR signal from the TV image signal transmitted from the transmitter through a transmitting channel. A ghost data sampling section samples ghost data from the GCR signal from the detector and a previously stored standard GCR signal. A ghost position detector detects ghost position data from the ghost data of the ghost data sampling section. A filter count controller receives the ghost data from the ghost data sampling section and generates a filter count control signal which controls filter counting to thereby reduce a size of a ghost. A filter filters a ghost component from a received TV image signal.
