<p>The present invention relates to a method for producing a tomographic image of the body as well as to an electric impedance tomograph in which a power supply is connected to electrode pairs that are separated by at least two electrodes. This method comprises measuring the potential difference between each pair of remaining electrodes and reconstructing an image of the three-dimensional distribution of the conductivity in the body by performing a reverse projection along the equipotentials. This electric impedance tomograph comprises a system of contact electrodes, devices for exciting the current and measuring the potential differences, a microprocessor control circuit as well as circuits for compensating the in-phase component of voltages and the contact differences of potentials. This method and this tomograph may be used to obtain a high-quality image of the conductivity in the body volume with a high sensitivity.</p> |
