PURPOSE:To make advantageous for off-road drive by considering an arrangement of a rear wheel drive shaft in a differential case of a four-wheel drive car and shorten the length of a transfer case in a front and back direction for securing a sufficient height from the ground for the rear wheel drive shaft. CONSTITUTION:The input of a hollow shaft 1 received from an engine rotates, in one hand, a front wheel drive shaft 9 via a pinion shaft 3, a pinion gear 5 and side gears 7a and 7b, while on the other hand, a rear wheel drive shaft 21 via a differential case 11, driving gear 19 and an input gear 23. When a rotational difference is generated between the front and the rear wheel drive shafts, the difference in power is generated between a side gear 7a of the front wheel drive shaft 9 and a side gear 7b of the rear wheel drive shaft 21, and this power is corrected by a rotation of the pinion gear 5. A sleeve 27 can be DIF-locked. In this construction, since the rear wheel drive shaft 21 is connected and moved in linkage with a DIF-case via the transfer box, the captioned device can be compact-sized. |
