The invention relates to new derivatives of biphenyl primary alcohols, their preparation and use as medicaments useful in the treatment and prevention of atherosclerotic disorders. The new derivatives have the general formula in which X represents a halogen atom, and more particularly chlorine, bromine or fluorine in ortho or meta position, R represents an alkyl, amino alkyl, pyridyl alkyl or acyl radical and more particularly +TR and acetyl.
