PURPOSE:To enable ink to be quickly, uniformly supplied and further, to improve the efficiency of filling, by a method wherein an ink feeding groove is provided adjacent to an ink application part on the container of a cartridge and the notched part for ink flowing is established on the section wall of a cartridge. CONSTITUTION:The ink 5 in an ink container 239 flows into the ink feeding grooves 230, 232 provided to the container 203 of a cartridge through an ink feed passage 261. Then, the ink 5 is stared to a height of the notched parts 234, 236 for ink flowing provided onto the section wall of the container 203. Thereafter, it is supplied to the ink coating members 209, 211 of an ink coating part through the notched parts 234, 236 and quickly, uniformly permeates in the longitudinal direction of the cartridge. When the ink 5 is consumed by recording, the air of the same volume as that consumption is fed into the cartridge via the fine hole of a film 3. The air fed into is reversely fed into the ink container 239 to disappear and the ink 5 of the same volume as that air is fed into the cartridge. |
