PURPOSE:To match the pitch of a printer with the pitch of printing data, by a method wherein a count-up signal is issued every time when write signals are counted to the predetermined number and whereby column data is reduced or enlarged in a column direction to be stored in a line buffer. CONSTITUTION:Since column data per pitch in a normal column direction is written in a line buffer 4 with write signals, the number o the columns is known by counting the wire signals. If the pitch of data to be printed is smaller than the pitch of a printer, the column data is reduced by, for example, being purged at every predetermined column number, while on the contrary, if larger, the column data is enlarged by, for instance, being increased every time when the aforesaid write signals are counted to the predetermined column number. In this processing, the pitch of the printer is matched with the pitch of the printing data, therefore, a printing can be carried out to a predetermined size. |
