DIGITAL SWITCH MODULE

A digital switch module of a digital switching system for time division switching operation includes an encoding laws conversion memory which realizes mutual conversion of encoding laws in different types, for example, between the A-law and .mu.-law for voice signal encoding. The encoding laws conversion memory may be a read-only-memory. The module also includes a control memory which designates conversion between encoding laws by the encoding laws conversion memory for each time slot. Dynamic control of conversion or no conversion of encoding laws corresponding to time slot is achieved by the control memory, even in the case where digital signals in different kinds of encoding laws exist on the highway, by utilizing the inlet and outlet side data obtained by setting the channel path of the digital switching system.
