THERMAL PHOSPHOR FOR MEASUREMENT OF AMOUNT OF ULTRAVIOLET RAYS

PURPOSE:To provide a thermal phosphor which enables the amt. of ultraviolet rays to be efficiently measured in a simple manner and is reusable and which comprises barium sulfate and europium added thereto in a particular amt. CONSTITUTION:A thermal phosphor for measurement of the amt. of ultraviolet rays which comprises barium sulfate and europium added thereto in an amt. of 0.01-10mol%. In the manufacturing of BaSO4:Eu by adding europium to barium sulfate, it is pref. to add a flux according to necessity since the melting points of both barium sulfate and europium are high. Suitable examples of the flux include a halide compd. and a sulfate.
