PURPOSE:To prevent the separation between a mat molded body and a reinforcing member from occurring and at the same time make the weight per unit area smaller by a method wherein a cloth-like material impregnated with phenolic resin solution is put upon an uncured glass fiber mat containing phenolic resin binder in the neighborhood of the opening of the mat. CONSTITUTION:A cloth-like material 3, which is impregnated with phenolic resin solution and, after that, dried, is put upon an uncured glass fiber mat 1 containing phenolic resin binder at least in the neighborhood of a part, in which an opening part 2 is to be made, so as to cure the phenolic resin under heat and pressure in order to make a molded body by bonding the mat 1 and the cloth-like material 3 into an integral body. In addition, an opening part 2 is made of cutting off a part of the molded body. Thus, the phenolic resin in the dried cloth-like material 3 is softened by heating and the plastic deformation of the cloth-like material 3 becomes possible and consequently the material 3 fits to a mold well. Further, because the phenolic resins in the dried cloth-like material 3 and in said mat 1 cure simultaneously, both the material 3 and the mat 1 are tightly made into an integral body. Consequently, no separation between the material 3 and the mat 1 occurs and enough reinforcing effect is obtained. |
