<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the quantity of refrigerant itself recooled by cooling a refrigerant, a temperature of which is elevated by heat exchange with an article to be cooled, by a low-temperature refrigerant before introduction to a cooling body in a low temperature device in which a superconducting coil as the article to be cooled is cooled by liquid helium and a superconducting magnet is constituted. CONSTITUTION:Liquid helium passes through a liquid-helium introducing pipe 12 from a vessel 8 and a flow rate thereof is regulated by a flow regulating valve 11, and liquid helium is introduced into a cooling piping 10 thermally brought into contact with a cooling plate 9 spirally. Since liquid helium is flowed into the cooling piping 10, a superconducting coil 3 is cooled indirectly, but the cooling plate 9 is thermally brought into contact with the superconducting coil 3, thus efficiently cooling the superconducting coil 3 at a temperature of 4.2K or less. Liquid helium, a temperature of which is elevated by the heat exchange, is discharged to the outside by an exhaust pump 5 through a piping 13 for exhaust, but the principal section of the liquid-helium introducing pipe 12 is arranged into the piping 13 for exhaust, thus cooling liquid helium, the temperature of which is raised, by liquid helium at a low temperature before heat exchange.</p> |
