PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of black matrix and to provide a satisfactory degree of black color by laminating a film resist on a transparent substrate, exposing and developing the parts of picture elements and coating a black coating compd. over the entire surface, then etching the same. CONSTITUTION:A cover film 2c of the sheet-like film resist 2 is stripped and said resist is laminated on the transparent substrate 1. After the resist is exposed by using a photomask 3, the base film 2a of the resist 2 and the resist 2 in the parts of the non-picture element parts are stripped. The black coating compd. 4 preferably consisting of carbon and gelatin is then coated over the entire surface including the resist 2 in the parts of the remaining picture element parts and after the coating dries, the coating is etched by hydrogen peroxide water, etc. to remove the remaining resist 2 and the coating compd. 4 thereon, thereby forming the black matrix 5. Respective colors R, G, B are formed by coating a photosensitive dye resin in the gaps of the matrix 5 to dye the gaps or by a printing method. |
