PURPOSE:To prevent bulging and self consumption during storage by forming logitudinal grooves projected outward in the circumference of a sealing plate. CONSTITUTION:Longitudinal (radial direction) grooves 8 projected outward is formed in the circumference of a sealing plate 1. By forming the grooves, stacking of the sealing plates in the polishing, plating, washing, and drying processes of the sealing plate after press forming process can be prevented, and foreign matters sticked inside the sealing plate is completely removed in the washing process. In a battery assembled with this clean sealing plate, gas evolution or reaction of foreign matters with active material is eliminated. Therefore, bulging or self consumption of the battery during storage can be prevented. |
