<p>So that no waste to be separated out as unusable material in the course of the process for producing fibrous material and also granular material from household, agricultural, forestry, organic industry and/or industrial wastes is obtained, the wastes to be processed are subjected firstly to an digestion treatment in an digestion unit (3), and the digested wastes, after the elimination of any metal portions by means of the magnetic separation units (5,6), are divided into three fractions. The division takes place by means of a fractionating unit (10): (a) into a fine fraction not exceeding the desired end product particle size and (b) into a coarse fraction which is easy to process mechanically, and (c) into a coarse fraction which is difficult to process mechanically. The two coarse fractions are thereupon comminuted separately from each other in comminuting units (14,15) which are matched optimally to the coarse fraction to be processed to give the desired final product particle sizes. All three fractions are then dried in a drying unit (18) by heating and drawing off the resulting water vapour to a given maximum residual moisture content and are sterilised, and brought together and fractionated together by means of a further fractionating unit (23) and air separators (24,25,26) into a heavy fraction (29) principally consisting of inorganic granules, into a light fraction (28, 31) principally consisting of organic fibres, and into a dust fraction (33) principally consisting of organic dust particles. For the operation of the drying unit (18), its heating device (34) is operated directly by means of the loose fibrous material produced with this plant, and branched off from the raw material silos (28, 31). <IMAGE></p> |
