<p>A folding hood for cross-country vehicles, pick-ups or similar has a front (10, 11) and a rear (12, 13, 14, 15, 18) tensioning frame, each comprising a pair of lateral supports (10, 13, 14, 14a, 14b) mounted so as to pivot on the sides of the bodywork in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, as well as a cross-beam (11, 18) spanning the width of the vehicle and connecting the free ends of the supports to one another. A lateral upper strut (21a, b) which extends in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle is fitted in an articulated manner to each support in the region of its free end connected to the cross-beam (11, 18). The lateral upper struts (21a, b) and the lateral rear supports (14a, b) are respectively made of sections of strut and supports which are connected together in an articulated manner and whose rotation in an opposite direction may be prevented by a locking device (23, 17) consisting of a catch mechanism. A cover forming the roof and composed of several connectable parts is fixed on the tensioning frames and the lateral spaces (21a, b), in such a way that the interior space of the vehicle can be separated from the outside air in a sealed manner. When the hood is folded back, the parts of the cover can be rolled up.</p> |
