A mount for the theft-proof attachment of a box-shaped vending machine, especially a cigarette machine, in front of a building wall or the like has a rectangular steel frame (10) of L-shaped cross-section matched to the size of the rear wall of the machine box. Some profile legs (24, 14a, 16a, 18a) of the frame (10) are provided with holes (32, 34) for screwing to the building wall and threaded bolts (28) for screwing tight the rear wall of the machine box. The other profile legs (20, 14a, 16a, 18a) directed forwards surround the machine box on all four sides. A steel post (50) insertable into the ground and anchorable therein is fastened to the frame (10) unreleasably from outside and extends from the lower part (12, 20) of the latter downwards underneath the machine. The mount can be anchored both on the building wall and in the ground without an intermediate distance from the building surface. <IMAGE>
