Impact damper

Impact dampers for stationary objects are composed of deformation spaces, bounded by metal sheets, within a boundary comprising short crash barriers displaceable relative to one another. In the known case, cellular constructions with absorber materials are embedded in the deformation spaces. The anchoring takes place via supporting feet, chains and anchoring rails. The invention now provides for a honeycomb structure 3 made of bent sheet-metal sections 4-6 which can be coupled to one another positively and non-positively. The honeycomb structure 3 is bounded by a peripheral wall 14. Short crash barriers 19 are provided at the periphery of the wall 14. The wall 14 and, if necessary, the honeycomb structure 3 are connected by tie rods 23 made of flat steel to angled rails 21 anchored at the bottom on the longitu7dinal sides of the impact damper 1. The connections 24, 25 are designed as predetermined breaking points. <IMAGE>
