PURPOSE:To facilitate the return work at the time of work abnormality by moving and retreating a cargo being held to a refuge station and allowing a cargo holder to move and wait automatically until the next stacking operation is started when work abnormality occurs. CONSTITUTION:In a system stacking cargos 2B on a pallet 2A with an automatic stacking device 1A holding, retreating, and moving cargos supplied to a stacking station according to operational sequences given, a stowage abnormality detecting device 1B such as a sensor fitted to a cargo holder is provided. When abnormal stacking is detected, the stacking operation is interrupted, the cargo holder is moved in the direction not to hit other cargos already stacked outside the working region and moved above a refuge station. The cargo is released at the refuge station, and the holder waits until the next operation is started, with no cargo held by it. Accordingly, the return work when reloading is to be started is facilitated. |
