An attachment (10) for a blow dryer (12) allows a person to dry hair from the roots towards the ends with a single hand. The attachment (10) includes a means for connection (14 and 28) to the output side (24) of the blow dryer (12) and an air sheet forming means (16). Extending from the forming means (16) is an air deflector (18) which deflects the air sheet downward and extending from the remote and of the deflector (18) is a plurality of picks (20, 38 and 49), each of which includes a hair lifter (44) at the end thereof. The picks (20, 38 and 40) are offset from the surface of the deflector (18) so that the deflected air sheet is deflected into the picks (20, 38 and 40). The picks (20, 38 and 40) are spaced apart so as to act as an air diffuser (38) to prevent too great an amount of air from being directed to the pick (40) area. The attachement (10) may be held onto the conventional blow dryer (12) through the use of an elastic strap (28). In using the attachment (10), it is moved into the area of the hair to be dried and thereafter lifted out. The lifters (44) rise the hair to a generally vertical position from the scalp and the deflected air dries the lifted roots first and the remaining portion of the hair as the remainder of the attachment (10) is moved outward. |
