摘要 PURPOSE:To contrive to miniaturize a circuit material and to reduce its cost by arranging a polarization separating element so as to be contacted with the end face of an optical fiber for optical output and molding the element unitedly with the optical fiber together with a magnetic optical element. CONSTITUTION:Light 7 projected from a semiconductor laser 1 is converted into a beam so as to be converged into the end face 9 of the optical fiber 8 by a condenser lens 2, and while being converged, the beam is transmitted through a magnetic optical system 5, its polarizing direction is rotated by 45 deg. and the beam is converged on the end face 9 of the optical fiber 8. The polarization separating element having a refractive index almost equal to that of the optical fiber 8 is arranged so as to be contacted with the end face 9 of the optical fiber 8. Consequently, the image forming position of reflected light is shifted from the end face of the semiconductor laser 1 and the reflected returning light to the laser 1 can be reduced. Since the elements 4, 5 are arranged on the position where the optical beam is most focused, both the elements 4, 5 and the magnetic circuit material 6 can be miniaturized.
