Method and agents for detecting antibodies against T-lymphotropic viruses

A method and agents for detecting antibodies against T-lymphotropic viruses by reacting the sample to be investigated with a human cell line which is infected with the viruses, and subsequently labelling with the aid of a second antibody, or antibody fragment, which is directed against human antibodies which carry a marker are described. In the cell line used only a part of the cells expresses viral antigens after infection. The cells with a negative reaction are quantified as internal standard.
