The invention relates to a pneumatic tyre for vehicles, having a carcass which is made of steel and whose strength supports are anchored in the tyre beads. In order to eliminate transverse movements of the bead section when using the known, stack-like tyre cores, the wire stacks located in the beads are divided into two small stacks which have virtually the same torsion resistance. These small wire stacks grip the strength supports of the carcass between them, specifically under the effect of clamping members engaging on the stacks from the outside.
