Substd. oxindoles having formula (I) or its base salts are prepd. by reacting (II) with acid derivs. of formula R1-C(=O)-OH. X=H or 5- fluoro, Y=H or 6-fluoro, R1=benzyl or furyl. Heat the mixt. of 3-(2- furoyl)2-oxindole 909mg (4.0m mole) and benzoyl isocyanate 706mg (4.8m mole) in toluene 25ml at the refluxing temp., reflux for 7hrs and stand for overnight at the ambient temp., filter to obtain 1.3g of a crude product, recry stallize it in 30ml of acetic acid to give 920mg of N-benzoyl-3-(2-furoyl)-2oxindole-1-carboxamide.
