NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [R1-R3 represent H, alkyl or aralkyl; R4 represents (substituted) amino; R5-R8 represent H, halogen atom, nitro, cyano, amino alkyl or alkoxyl; formula II represents (subsituted) aromatic hydrocarbon group or (substituted) unsaturated heterocyclic ring group]. EXAMPLE:A compound expressed by formula III. USE:A photochromic material, exhibiting remarkable photochromic action at about room temperature or higher temperature (30-40 deg.C) and capable of developing a color ranging from purplish red to blue by irradiation of ultraviolet rays. PREPARATION:For example, an azolium salt expressed by formula IV (A<-> represents anion), a nitroso compound expressed by formula V and an amine compound are subjected to reaction in a solvent such as ethanol, etc., at 20-120 deg.C for 30min-5hr while introducing nitrogen gas. 0.5-2mol nitroso compound and 2-8mol amine compound and normally used based on 1mol azolium salt. |
