PURPOSE:To prevent the corrosion of an engine cooling system by supplying a anti-freeze solution from the vessel thereof to the engine cooling system depending upon the concentration of the anti-freeze solution on the basis of the specific gravity of cooling water, when the temperature of the cooling water is at a predetermined level. CONSTITUTION:An anti-freeze solution vessel 21 containing an anti-freeze solution is connected to a primary cooling water pipe 11 connecting the water jacket outlet of an engine to a radiator inlet, via an anti-freeze solution supply pipe 22, and the anti-freeze solution is supplied to an engine cooling system via a pump 28 and a control valve 23. According to values detected by an anti-freeze solution concentration detecting sensor 27 and a temperature sensor 91 interlocked with a float in a reserve tank 6, a micro computer 31 actuates the pump 28 when the concentration of the anti-freeze solution has dropped below about 30% at the cooling water temperature of about 35 deg.C, and opens the control valve 23, thereby supplying the anti-freeze solution until the concentration thereof reaches about 30%. |
