摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent formation of faulty dots by ink particles of small diameter, fouling of electrodes or irregular charging, charge distortion and flying distortion by ink particles of large diameter by interlocking an ink particle generation mode setting means and a charge voltage generation mode setting means using a resolution control means. CONSTITUTION:An excitation signal selector circuit 7 and a charge signal selector circuit 12 select the required ones of each two different oscillation voltages and charging voltages of variant magnitude instantaneously with a diameter size selection signal, and then transmit them to amplifiers 8, 13. A charge signal converts a sine wave which is output from a high-frequency power supply 5 to a square wave by means of a waveform shaping circuit 9 and adjusts phase and pulse width which are essential conditions for charging ink particles by a phase/pulse width adjustment circuit 11. After this the charge signal is developed into a dot signal through composition with recording image information by a dot development circuit 11, then it is formed in pulses. The charge signal selector circuit 12 selects the desired one of charge signal voltages for large and small diameter ink particles to be generated, amplifies the selected signal voltage with an amplifier 13 and composes it with a bias voltage generated by a bias power supply 14 to be applied to a control electrode 4.
