PURPOSE:To manufacture a two-row glass nozzle array with high precision by forming a plurality of parallel groove rows in two tiers, each on the front and the rear of a substrate in parallel to each other, with glass fiber arranged in the groove rows, and with each different substrate provided on the front and the rear of the substrate, and cutting in shape the whole assembly at right angles with the longitudinal axis of block glass fiber. CONSTITUTION:Grooves 2a, 2b are formed on the front and back of a substrate 1 and hollow or solid glass fibers 3a, 3b are arranged in the grooves 2a, 2b. Further the grooves are covered with an upper substrate 4a and a lower substrate 4b. The upper and lower substrates 4a, 4b and a substrate with a center groove formed 1 are bonded together with an adhesive or brazing glass. Further, the adhesive or brazing glass is filled even in the gap between the grooves 2a, 2b and the glass fibers 3a, 3b, so that no gap may generate among them, and these substrates are formed into a block. The block is cut to a desired length in a direction at right angles with the axial direction of glass fibers 3a, 3b, thus completing the formation of a glass array 5. It is possible to use an NC-controlled dicing saw which enables the arrangement of nozzles. |
