PURPOSE:To aim at manhour reduction in engine assembling process, by detecting a proper position of a distributor and, on the basis of the detection signal, constituting the distributor positioning and fixation to an engine body to be automatically performed as interlocking with each other. CONSTITUTION:After a nut runner 25 loosened a set screw 14, a robot hand 24 drives a distributor 12 and performs positioning for this distributor 12 on the basis of an output signal out of a position detecting device detecting a proper position of the distributor 12. Afterward, the nut runner 25 tightens the set screw 14 and locks the distributor 12 to a cylinder block 11, and thereby the positioning of the distributor 12 and fixation to an engine body are interlockingly performed in an automatic manner. Therefore, manual work of an operator is eliminated and automation of an engine assembling process is thus promoted. In addition, an ignition timing adjuster adjusts a relative position between the robot hand 24 and the nut runner 25 by a motor 22, a rotating member 23 and a slide mechanism 27, while it is available for various engine assemblies. |
