PURPOSE:To securely stop and protect a driver with an air bag by forming a projecting part which is caught by a handle on the front face on the handle side of said air bag which is expanded and falls at the time of collision. CONSTITUTION:Prior to the collision of a vehicle, a gas generator device 4 is operated by means of a signal from a collision foreseeing device 3, and a high pressure gas is discharged. Thereupon, an air bag 1 on a ceiling part 6 is expanded and falls into between a handle 7 and a driver 8. Then, at the time of the collision of a vehicle, the driver 8 crashes into the air bag 1. In this case, projecting parts 11 formed on the air bag 1 are caught by the arms of the handle 7, and the air bag 1 is fixed without being shifted toward a front glass 9. As a result, the driver 8 is securely stopped by the air bag 1, enabling him to be protected from a collision. |
