A microporous heat-insulating body consisting of a core of pressed heat- insulating material containing 30-90 wt. % fine particles of metal oxide and other additives, whereby one or both surfaces are provided with a heat resistant covering and the covering can be the same or different in addition to possessing at least one side that is made from a prefabricated mica film.
