摘要 Polyacrylonitrile fibres are wet-spun from aq. thiocyanate salt sotns. of copolymers, no ave. mol. wt. 9,000-14,750, contg. 80-95wt.% acrylonitrile, 5-12 wt.% methyl methacrylate with any balance being a comonomer free of acid dyesites. The spinning compsn. has polymer- concn. 12.5-16 wt.% in aq. thiocyanate sotn., in which SeN salt content is 38-45 wt.% on wt. polymer and water; and viscosity 28-60 poise as determined by falling ball method at 40 deg.C. The spinning compsn. is extruded into dil (esp. 10-15 wt.%) aq. SCN salt soln., the resultant wet-gel fibre is washed and stretched to remove SCN salt/orientate the polymer and then collapsed.
