TEXTURED NYLON-6 FILAMENT

A textured nylon-6 continuous filament is characterised by the absence of a sphenilific ring structure along the periphery of the cross section when it is viewed under polarised light. The filament is free from any delustrant but may contain not more than 0.1wt.% of Tio2 as delustant. The non-heat treated, undyed, crimped filamentary material pref. contains gamma form nylon-6 and alphaform nylon-6 in an at least 1:1 ratio and after heat setting the crimped filamentary material the alphafrom nylon-6 is predominant. The filament pref. has a modification ratio of 2-3, a tank bulk of at least 8% and a denier of at least 5 pref. 5-25.
