<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the titled sheet material enabling the maintenance of freshness of fruit vegetables in the case of transportation to a distant place, by using a deodorizing agent consisting of a porous mica prepared by heat-treating an expandable mica substituted with ion between crystal layers, a catalyst active to decompose ethylene and a water-absorbing polymer as essential components. CONSTITUTION:An expandable mica preferably an expandable synthetic mica or natural montmorillonite or vermiculite is converted to interlaminar ion- substituted material by ion exchange technique and heat-treated to obtain a deodorant consisting of porous mica. The objective sheet material contains (A) the above deodorant, (B) a catalyst having ethylene-decomposition activity (e.g. palladium-copper) and (C) a water-absorbing polymer. Preferably, the components A, B and C are laminated by using pulp cotton, nonwoven fabric, etc., and pressed in the form of a sheet.</p> |
