Rotary cylindrical crusher with horizontal axis 2 for preparing a pulverulent material, comprising members for introducing the material to be crushed and a drying gas, and for removing the pulverised material in the drying gas, through at least one journal 3 of the crusher. The members 6, 7 for introducing the material to be crushed and the drying gas and for removing the crushed material in the drying gas are arranged on one side only of the crusher, in a single journal, and the crusher is provided on the other side with a solid shaft 9 joined in its extension to a motor 11 driving the crusher in rotation.
