The invention relates to a method and a device for luminous display of the movement in rotation or in translation of a movable object. The device according to the invention is characterised in that it comprises a transparent support 4 integral with the said movable object 11 or a part for driving the latter, the said support 4 bearing characteristic marks, means 5 for illuminating the said support 4, and at least one optical conductor 7, one end 6 of which receives a part of the illumination through the support 4 and the other end 8 of which is visible to the operator.
