In the jacket 1, one 5 of the thermoelectric couple wires extends from one end 4 of this jacket as far as the region of the opposite end 3, then curves through 180 DEG C and returns as far as the middle third L/3 of the length of the jacket 2, where it forms a junction 10 with the second wire 8 which is shorter, so that the two wires can be used as heating wires during a first heating operation, before being used immediately afterwards as thermoelectric couple wires for measuring the decrease in the temperature. <IMAGE>
