PURPOSE:To contrive to save the power consumption of a mobile station and to utilize a radio wave effectively by using a directional antenna for an antenna system of the mobile station and controlling the main beam in the optimum direction. CONSTITUTION:A call or an incoming call is successful between a base station 1 and a mobile station 2 and a talking channel is locked, then the base station 1 always supervises the electric field strength sent from the mobile station 2 and sends a power control message to the mobile station depending on the quantity of the level. A radio equipment control section 7 of the mobile station 2 receiving the said message controls not only a transmitter 5 but also an antenna switch 9. That is, the output of the transmitter 5 is made constant to switch the connection of antennas 8a-8f sequentially and the power control message received at each occasion is discriminated by the control section 7 to fix the directivity of the antenna to the best condition with respect to the base station during communication and the transmitter 5 is controlled to adjust the transmission output to a proper level to make communication. |
