PURPOSE:To obtain the liquid helium circulating and cooling type superconducting magnet having stabilized cooling effect at all times by a method wherein a gas and liquid separating vessel is provided at the inlet part of a superconducting coil. CONSTITUTION:The gas component of the helium brought into a gas-liquid mixed state in the outward path 6b of a helium conveying pipe is separated in a gas-liquid separating vessel 9 by providing the gas-liquid separating vessel at the inlet part of a superconducting coil 8, they return to the inward path of the helium conveying pipe passing through a pressure-loss compensating valve 10, and saturated liquid component only is sent to the superconducting coil 8. Accordingly, even when a gaseous component is generated by the heat infiltrated from the circumference during circulation cooling of the superconducting coil, the quality is maintained at 0.4 or less, and the stabilized cooling effect can be obtained without having a vibrational phenomenon. The pressure loss compensating valve 10 is used to compensate the pressure loss on the superconducting coil 8 so that the whole helium on the outward path will not return to the inward path directly. |
