PURPOSE:To prevent the breakdown of flash lamps due to electromagnetic force, by arranging dummy lamps at an arranging interval different from the flash lamps at positions, where the electromagnetic force acting on the flash lamps becomes a minimum. CONSTITUTION:Dummy lamps 1-a-1-d are arranged at positions, which are separated by a distance (d) from both ends of flash-lamp lines on two parallel right and left planes with respect to a laser light path (a). The odd number of the flash lamps 2-1-2-15 and 3-1-3-15 are arranged in parallel at an equal interval. Reflectors 4-a and 4-b constitute concave reflectors for the flash lamps. Currents, whose directions are opposite with respect to the neighboring flash lamps, are made to flow through the dummy lamps 1-a-1-d. The distance (d) is selected at a position, where the offset effect for electromagnetic force by the dummy lamps becomes a maximum, i.e., at a position, where the electromagnetic force acting on the flash lamp line becomes a minimum. |
