PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device equipped with a mechanism for easily and accurately operating the phase adjustment of grating which diffracts outgoing laser beams. SOLUTION: In the light source unit of an optical pickup device, a holder 22 whose top end is provided with a grating 3 is inserted into a housing part 21 formed at a device frame 20, and this holder 22 is pressurized by a coil spring 23 in a compressed state with a spacer 30 interposed. At the time of rotating the holder 22 with an optical axis L as a center for the phase adjustment of the grating 3, the coil spring 23 is not directly brought into contact with a holder rear end face 22c, so that the problem of the interruption of the smooth rotation of the holder 22 or the problem of the rotation of the holder 22 after the phase adjustment due to an acting face from the coil spring 23 can be prevented. Thus, the phase adjustment of the grating can be easily and accurately attained.
