PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deformation of a chassis with an energizing force by arranging an elastic material to result in the energizing force for an adjusting screw matched with the adjusting direction line, and thereby applying such energizing force to the chassis only at the area near the point to be placed in contact with the adjusting screw. SOLUTION: This disc drive comprises a spindle chassis for supporting a turntable 47 to rotate freely, a pickup chassis for supporting an optical pickup 48 to move to come close or separate further to/from the turn table 47 and is also supported with the spindle chassis to sway, and a position adjusting means including a compression coil spring provided between the pickup chassis and spindle chassis and an adjusting screw for adjusting the relative position of the pickup chassis and spindle chassis against an energizing force of the compression coil spring. The compression coil spring and adjusting screw of the position adjusting means are allocated in one side of the pickup chassis on the center line of the sway.
