PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate an automatic vending machine in plural countries different in currency without hindrance even when it is exported to such countries by providing a main controller to control the entire automatic vending machine, plural coin recognition devices for different currencies and a manual input device of an instruction signal to instruct the main controller about the coin recognition device to be used. SOLUTION: The coin recognition devices 2 to 4 different in currency are connected to the main controller 1 via communication protocol converters 5 to 7. In addition, equipment 8 such as an article ejector, a cooling and warming device and the manual input device 9 are connected with the main controller 1. When the automatic vending machine is exported to a foreign country, the coin recognition device for the currency of the present country is sorted from among the coin recognition devices 2 to 4 and the instruction signal to instruct its use is outputted by operating the manual input device 9 by an installation company of the automatic vending machine of an importing country. An article is sold by operating either of the coin recognition devices 2 to 4 instructed by the instruction signal and the equipment 8 such as the article ejector, the cooling and warming device, etc., by the main controller 1.
