PURPOSE:To obtain a battery which has a high depth of charge and discharge by coating a sodium ion conductive glass on one side of a non-electron conductive porous film surface. CONSTITUTION:A battery is formed by coating a solid electrolyte, for which a sodium ion conductive glass is used in this case, on one side of a porous ceramics insulator surface. A glass having a melting point in the range between a working temperature of the battery, i.e. 350 deg.C, or more and 1100 deg.C or less shall be used. Also, thermal expansion coefficient thereof must be the same order as that of the substrate which is composed of porous ceramics material, and sodium ion conductivity thereof is preferably the same or more than that of beta''-alumina. Any coating processes, such as dip coating and others, are applicable to the glass coating. With the arrangement, the depth of charge and discharge can be increased as much as 2-3 times. |
