Method and device for applying the squeegee of a screen printing machine

The squeegee of a screen printing machine is engaged quickly and precisely due to the fact that its resting force is measured and the application movement is ended when a given reference value is reached. A device operating in this manner has two actuators connected one after the other for engaging the squeegee, the first being movable relatively quickly between two fixedly adjustable end positions while the second will bring about a fine adjustment which is continued until a given reference value of the resting force is reached.
