摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain optimum slag-off states meeting the kinds of steels produced while preventing slopping by measuring the kinetic energy occuring in forming slag as the strains in the restraining parts of detecting elements suspended in a furnace while they are restrained of horizontal movements. CONSTITUTION:The strains epsilonx, epsilony in x-, y-axis directions are detected with mutually right-angles strain gages 7, 7' on the horizontal plane of a supporting fitting 4 fixed in the upper part of an oxygen feeding lance 5 of a lance suspension mechanism of a carriage system. Slag making is controlled with the true strain epsilon of the equationIby waveform converters 8, 8', a combining operator 9, and a process computer 10. Further, the slag-off condition by the flow rate Fo2 (Nm<3>/sec) of oxygen feeding and the height Lh (m) of the lance fluctuates under the slag-off conditions wherein said combined value acting upon the lance is approximately similar. Therefore, in order to improve the accuracy of slag-off detection additionally, the slag forming height Sh (m) is estimated by the equation II (a, b are correction values, which are constant with an actual furnace), and is utilized for decision of the slag making conditions, whereby the generation of slopping is foreseen.
