PURPOSE:To improve a moisture resistance characteristic by covering an optical recording layer essentially consisting of the gelatin matrix formed on one face of a card substrate with a transparent cover film and adhering the same. CONSTITUTION:This recording card is constituted of the card-shaped substrate 1 formed of a plastic material to a card shape, the optical recording layer which consists essentially of the gelatin matrix and is formed with a bright silver layer on the surface and the transparent cover film 3 consisting of polycarbonate, etc. The length of the long side or short side of the recording layer 2 is set shorter than the length of the long side or short side of the substrate 1; therefore, the end faces 2a, 2b of the recording layer 2 are prevented from being exposed to the end faces 1a, 1b of the substrate 1. The direct contact of the recording layer 2 with the outside field is, therefore, obviated and the route where moisture is most likely to enter is shut off, by which the intrusion of the moisture is prevented.
