PURPOSE:To obtain the titled material having improved durability against formalin by providing an emulsion layer contg. a two-equivalent magenta coupler which is composed of 5-pyrazolones and has a specific coloring unit density for an adjacent emulsion layer having the same color sensitivity through a non color sensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:The titled material comprises the plural emulsion layers which have substantially the same color sensitivity and the different photosensitivities. More than one layer of the emulsion layer contg. the two-equivalent magenta coupler of 5-pyrazolones shown by the formula has <=5.0X10<-4>mol/cm<3> binder of coupler coloring unit density. And, the non color sensitive hydrophilic colloid layer is interposed between said emulsion layer and the adjacent emulsion layer having the same color sensitivity. In the formula, R<1> is carbon amide, anilino or ureido, etc., R<2> is phenyl, Z is a group capable of releasing by coupling reaction of an oxidant of an aromatic primary amine developing agent. Thus, even if a camera is placed in the formalin atmosphere, the titled material having less tendency for reduction of coloring and excellent grainness is obtd. |
